Personal Experience
- Via the Bigtreetech - Panda Touch, I have USB 1 to follow the Bambu Lab P1S internal light. I have a USB powered light strip plugged into USB 1 and I can therefore control both the internal and external LED light sources for the printer through a single operation.
- A bit of an expensive purchase for what it offers, but the convenience of the light control and the safe operation of the power down (it will warn before allowing manual turning off while cooling still needs to occur, and auto turn off accommodates this) make it a good addition if you have the need.
- I do find my IP address switches (from a
192.
to a10.
every once in a while, which is frustrating), but the Panda Touch continues communicating with it no problem. - A Home Assistant integration is now available at https://github.com/juanillo62gm/HA-Panda-PWR.
- This is linked to by Bigtreetech and is currently awaiting approval to be included in the HACS library - but you can add it directly.
- The connection utilises the IP address, so we’ll see how well this works over time for my IP address issue.
- The updates to Home Assistant are a little slow, but having the data feeding in and having remote access to power cycle the printer via Home Assistant is an advantage.
- I can also set up an alert for if there is a firmware update for the Panda PWR.
