Model Finishing

Once a model has printed, there can be parts of the model that need cleaning up. Removing supports, deburring edges, filing down rough faces, etc. all benefit from having a few tools available to help you do so with more than just bare fingers.

  • FEAMCE 3D Printing Tool Kit
    • Contains: Deburring tool and blades, finger guards, wire cutters, needle nose pliers, mini hand drill, needle files (x5), tweezers (x3), box knife and blades, plastic spatula, steel spatula.
  • Silverline Pick/Probe Set
    • 6 piece set of stainless steel tools including three single-end picks and three double-end hooks.
    • I’m using these to scrape out pieces of filament in tight spaces, clear support material, etc. In essence they are useful for digging out Gridfinity magnet holes and scraping off larger pieces of rough filament before going in with a file.
  • JOREST Watch Screwdriver Set
    • I used the screwdrivers in this set as picks and scrapers. One of the screwdrivers snapped after a couple of months of use and I have mostly replaced them now with the Silverline pick and probe set above - I am hoping they are much stronger.
