Description	A coaster with a knife wielding fowl

Notes

• This coaster is perhaps not suitable for every occasion, but it is of a chick holding a knife and around the outside edge are the words “I CHOOSE VIOLENCE” with a couple of stylised skulls. It is cartoony and comical rather than overtly offensive in nature, and it is the stark contrast of the violence to cuteness that I found humorous and appealing.
• I printed this in simple black and white though I have seen more colourful variations.
• I added some small sticky rubber feet underneath as otherwise the coaster would slide across my smooth desk. I added five such feet to give it stability.
• The feet subsequently leave a gap, and given the heat of many cups of tea and coffee, over time, this has created a concavity as the centre has sunk. It is fine, but I would print in a filament with a higher heat tolerance next time.
• I printed the coaster using a textured plate. I have never been able to decide if that was a good choice for a slightly more cup grippy texture, or if the use of a smooth plate would have made the image come out that bit cleaner and sharper.
• All in all, I really like this coaster and I really should clean it more frequently than I do.
